The Principal Investigator, Tom Liu, is a doctoral candidate in Aerospace Engineering. His research interest in improving field emission cathode technology also encompasses the field of micropropulsion systems. From personal experience, he is a strong proponent of providing undergraduate students with research and systems design-build-test-fly experiences. He's attended meetings dressed like Indiana Jones, but always forgets the whip.
